No where in the Bible does it way God rested during creation. Try reading it again. It says He "rested" when he was done. The word means that he "ceased" from his work because he was done. And it is translated that way in most modern Bible. An example of a word (rest) that has changed some in meaning over the 400 years since the King James Bible was translated.
So let me get this right? Because God did things in an orderly, logical, step-by-step approach in which he careful prepared an suitable environment for man before creating him, you reject it.
Are you saying that if the Bible said He did it in less than that you would believe it, accept his exstence, and bow down and worship? OK, who shortened a week to 6 days? He was not working on the seventh. So he did do it in less then a week.
So I expect you to keep your word now and believe in God.

Good point there. Even as a Christian, I don't know why God decided to take six days to create everything instead of just getting it out of the way. I suppose, though, that God rested for our benefit. In the Book of Genesis, God says that after resting, he blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it (that is, he made it holy so that we, too, must rest and worship on the same day of the week). So, I suppose that God did it so that we could always get at least one day off from working in the week, but also so that we could take time to worship and acknowledge Him. Jesus said that God made the Sabbath for man, and not man for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27). So, one can surmise from that statement that the Sabbath is in existence because it is compulsory. God has made it mandatory to take the seventh day out of the week for rest and for worship, and it is not optional. So, I suppose you could say that God rested for the sake of us human beings, so that we would have at least one day out of the week to rest and to worship.

The Bible says God rested, it doesn't say He had to rest. Also He was setting the pattern of the modern week which we STILL go by. Traditionally we work six days and rest the seventh. In more modern times we lengthened our rest time to two days. You call God weak because He doesn't fit into your narrow mind.

It doesnt say He HAD to rest nor that He was tired. He is God, can He NOT rest if He feels like it? It's funny how many limits people put on God really.

He accidentally invented TV before man, a show he liked came on and suddenly it all stretched out abit...
You'd think being God un all he would just go SHAZAM...and everything starts at the same time....

ignorance should be painful. dearest kira, if you're going to believe the stuff, at least READ it:
Gen 2:2 ...and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

To set an example for us (as any good father would do)... resting one out of every seven days is good for the body. Resting farmland for one year out of every seven increases crop yields.
A good example!
