"If that's true then don't ever again imply that everything needed a creator."
You won't want to hear this but the Bible says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. He was in the beginning, He is in the present, and He always will be. God, understand this, Almighty God, the only Supreme Being, always was. Everything, and I mean everything else was created by Him and for Him. Even you.
I don't really know where you're going with this anyway other than I guess this is your argument for evolution. When you look at the complexity of life, it takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe God created everything.
I hope someday that your eyes will be opened to the limitless power of God.

Science tell us that 15 billion years ago, time did not exist, matter did not exist either.. It was a strange period. Scientists like Stephen Hawkings have said, that they can tell us how the universe started, but they are at a lost for telling us why it exists at all.
I believe the start of creation is similar to the creative processes of your brain. You have a thought. Is it just a chemical transferring between neurons? Which came first the thought or the neurotransmitter? Our thought must be creative in nature. In the same way the trigger that set the Big Bang in motion could also be a thought. That would mean that all the universe is the product of the consciousness of God. Interesting.

Don't you love it when people ask and question and then say, "But don't tell me that answer."
Everything PHYSICAL needs a creator. Last time I looked God was not physical. He is the One who invented those rules. So He falls outside the laws of physical science and nature, which does state that everything physical needs a Creator. That is what makes him God.
And why the six day, step by step approach to creation? Would not have been very smart to make a person who has to have to breath, light to see, food to eat, water to drink, land to stand on, etc. before all that was in place. He won't have lasted very long.

no, not everything needs a creator. Anything earthly needs a creator. I know you are not going to buy that, but I dont really mind.
and to Aslan's very intestering question. Why did creation take 6 days? and what some others might ask, why did God have to rest after His 6 days of creation.
This is because God wanted to show us the example of how to work. God could have easily done everything in a milli-second, all He had to do was to command. But, he chose to use the genesis to show us how we should work. He is saying "see, even God takes time to accomplish things. take things step by step". And the rest? just shows us that we need it, too. The day of rest eventually became Sabbath.
God works in ways our limited capacities don't understand

No matter what, we're left with the mystery of Existence that should boggle the mind. Take God out, put in the cosmology of the endless and beginningless cycle of universes starting, expanding, collapsing, ending and repeating the cycle and ... we're still left with something *this process) always existing. Only those who have REALLY thought about this will be completely humbled by its ramifications -- and will be blown away by the fact that anything exists at all. I used to think about this over and over when I was a kid and would almost get into a panic state because something just always existing - again, not talking about god - is very very very unsettling.

There are so many inaccuracies in your question that it is difficult to give you an answer...
Christians don't imply that God is eternal. We state it as fact based on our faith.
Christianity is a faith based belief... God did create everything... including the science you cling to in a vane attempt to discredit His work.
Your statement that a Christian can no longer "imply that everything needed a creator" based on your misunderstanding of faith is absurd. That is like saying you can no longer trust physicians because the practice of blood letting has been debunked.
In my opinion it takes more faith to believe that a planet developed all on it's own, the perfect distance from a sun that puts out just enough radition and heat to allow water to form. And that just the exact amount of chemicals pooled together in a primordial pond and had just enough electrical current to stimulate life. And that single celled organism differentiated into the multitudes of species.... please... give me a break. God created the universe to His glory. You know it in your heart.

Our human brains have a limited of understanding. We can't think out of the box. Our creator ,God has been existing for eternity. If you don't understand how that would work, that's an example of thee human brain. The universe, does it go on for ever? If not, where does it end and whats after that? Think about it. Consider taking back what you said.

i like the 'seem to imply' part of your statement as an understatement
however christians and the jewish religion both teach that is is God who sustains our universe after having created it
my only question is
why did it take as long as 6 days?
