The people who are saying "Te extraño" are telling you to say I am strange to you or I am queer to you... Not very nice.

OK... so in spanish "I miss you" is commonly said "Te extraño." but the pronounciation of the letter "ñ" is a bit complicated. So another way of saying "I miss you" is "Le echo de menos" or "Me haces falta."
Lets pick "Me haces falta" which would sound sort of like "Meh ah-sehs fahl-tah".
It is saying the same thing in a different way. If you are just writing it then it's no biggie.
"Can I get your number?" is "Me podrias dar tu numero de telefono?" which would sound sort of like "Meh poh-dree-ahs dahr too nue-meh-row deh teh-leh-foe-noh?"

PS: to the girl who says that "Te extraño." doesn't mean I miss you... you should learn to speak spanish. You can say the same thing in different ways and it will mean the same thing. Websites usually do a literal translation and it doesn't make sense.... Any way, trust me "Te extraño." does mean I miss you and if you are going to rely on a website to translate, that altavista website is crap, their translation to spanish suck. to say i miss u is TE EXTRANO problem is that the letter 'n' is not pronounced like our n. if you ever heard anyoone say "the bathroom" in spanish "el bano" you'll know what i mean. Can i get your number is ME PUEDES DAR TU NUMERO DE TELEFONO? hope this helps
