She is 5.5 months old. Registered tri- color beagle. She was fine moments before and drinking water when I left the room for all of one minute. I came back in and she was limping with her left leg pulled up close to her body. This happened over an hour ago and it has relaxed somewhat but still will not support weight

Could a puppy so young have a stroke? She was still near her water dish. No chance of jumping up and hurting herself. I would have heard her anyway cuz I was so close to her and less than one minute out of view. She has had a siezure about a month ago but nothing since. The vet suspects epilepsy. However , i don't believe this was a siezure and she is recovering. Sleeping now

s seen by the vet after seizure and tested. Said all were normal and too early for a brain tumor. Chalked it up to epilepsy- which is one concern of the beagle breed.

It sounds like he popped out his patella. Do an internet search on patella luxation. It is a problem a lot of dogs have. Sometimes you need to do surgery to correct the problem, but a lot of dogs also learn to live with it.

He will 'pop' it back in before too long and act like nothing was wrong if thats what the problem is. A vet can manipulate his patella's to tell you whether they are correct or not.

If she had a seizure a month ago and now is dragging her leg, I would be worried about a relationship between the 2 events, such as a brain tumor or AV malformation. If this were you, your doctor would order a brain MRI.

Maybe she tried to jump on the couch or a chair when you left the room. I would call a vet, it may need to be xrayed. And again she may have just pulled a muscle.

She could've sprained her ankle, popped her knee out, or could of got bitten by an insect like a spider or an ant. I would go to the vet and have it checked out. It's probably nothing but you don't want to wait till it gets worse.

It's possible that she was bitten by something. Is it swollen at all? I would call the vet and see what they say. Best of luck to you and your pup!
