Not much. They are both what has been called "Colonial Settler States". Maxime Rodinson wrote a book called "Israel: A Colonial Settler State?" about this. He was Jewish and his parents died in Auschwitz.

One review is below
Tony Thomas (North Miami, FL USA

"Maxime Rodinson was one of the world's great scholars of the Arab East, of Islam (his master work was Islam and Capital),and simultaneously a relentless fighter against anti-Semitism. This short clear book he wrote nearly 30 years ago still stands up, fact for fact, every page of history alive today. The history of Zionism is not one of struggle against the real enemies of the Jewish people, but one to despoil the Arabs of Palestine, in the same reactionary racist kind of colonialism that has been defeated in Israel's now dead ally Apartheid South Africa and white-settler Rhodesia. Here are the facts, told clearly, by a man who knew."

As for Hezbollah being given the noble peace prize I doubt it but who knows - only if they change their tactics to peaceful ones. Remember Mandela changed from an advocate of violence to an advocate of peace. I really doubt it though since Hezbollah are Islamic fundamentalists. Mandela and the African National Congress were more secular National Liberationists, if I recall correctly.

Another similar example would be Northern Ireland, an earlier colonial settler state.

In response to additional comments: As I said, yes you are right Mandela was jailed for terrorism and helping to plan a violent attack in a desperate attempt at National Liberation. But, he was a nationalist or internationalist and not an Islamic fundamentalist. And, so, he changed his tactics in 25 years of prison. Mandela is and was always a thinking man. He was trying to find a tactic that works. While Hezbollah is incidentally working against Zionist invasion I think they are also fundamentalists and hence less thoughtful and perhaps less likely to follow a peaceful way. And, what would be the peaceful way? Well, first Israel has to stop the violence, like the Apartheid government eventually let up because of international boycott and outrage.

And, if we are comparing for Lebanon we would have to look at things like S. Africa's invasion of Namibia and SWAPO resistance and Angola, etc.

I think we must distinguish between mostly secular National Liberation Movements and modern day militant fundamentalists whether Islamic or Christian or Jewish (and this last does exist though we rarely hear about it).

Militant Islam (i.e."Islamic fundamentalism") in power is a very dangerous thing, especially for women. Look at Iran. They had an anti-imperialist revolt against the Shah which was broad-based and massive but the clerics took control of the revolt and killed all of the other opposition. Unfortunately, the west does everything possible to destroy secular opposition like the PLO and llittle opposition remains other than militant Islam.

Please note that US Roman Catholic Bishops (definitely not fundamentalists!) were labeled as "terrorists" in the 1980s due to their opposition to US war in Central America.

"Terrorist" has traditionally been used to name anyone opposed to the objectives of imperialism even when opposition is peaceful, as in the case of the Roman Catholic Bishops.

Depends if the U.N. ever wakes up and grows a spine. The U.S. dictates world policy at the moment.
