My puppy is either missing or has an extra nipple

I cant believe some of the answers I have seen.
It is a great thing your question is not life critical.
There is NO normal and NO unusual number of nipples for a dog.
It depends on the breed of dog.
Good lord people, where would a Chihuahua put 8 or 9 nipples??????
Same thing, how would a Great Dane feed 14 pups with only 5 nipples???????
The number of nipples your dog has, has nothing to do with normal or abnormal, nature has a much better idea of how things are supposed to be.
If you have a small breed dog the number of nipples will be much less than a large breed dog.

I raise dogs. Often one side has an extra nipple. It is a common thing and perfectly alright. I have one here in my living room with 1 extra on one side. I think it has to do with the breed. My Schipperke dogs usually have 8 but occasionally one has 9.

there is no specific Number but I can tell you that my 3 year old pitbull terrier has nine. all dogs have different numbers

10 is normal, well thats how many both my girls have. If your dog is missing some then, it's no big deal.
