My boyfriend still tells his ex girlfriends that he loves them, puts xxxoo when he writes them and calls them honey. It makes me jealous. He responds when I ask him about it "There's really no reason to be concerned. Yes, my ex is one of my best friends. But, I'm WITH YOU. So, where do you think I stand? :)". I am in my late twenties and he will be 25 in September. I love my boyfriend but do not know what to do about his ex. HIs ex has started emailing me which I find to be weird. She tells me that she is not a threat to me and that my boyfriend loves me very much. I am not sure of what to believe. In addition, I just moved 250 miles away from my boyfriend in order to take a job as corporate counsel.

First, here is a question on the flip side of your question:

Thought you might find that interesting. But your scenario is different, b/c your boy is showing the EX's real affection.

You have to work out what types of relationships you will allow with your significant others. Each person has to define their boundaries.

Now, on the "I moved away" front. THAT is more of a threat to your relationship practically than what the ex-girlfriends are doing.

Absence of physical affection don't make the heart grow fonder, and he'll still be looking for some of that in your absence - odds are. So you need to deal with the reality of your decision - which creates a vacuum of affection for both of you. You have your work cut out for you. Long distance relationships are difficult.
