Joelle, for most of us if we want to change something in our lives, we have to change something about ourselves, not something about other people. We cannot change other people, we can only change ourselves. If we are unhappy with how other people react to us, we have to change how we treat them, and then most likely that will change how they treat us.

Think about what's been happening in your school life, and make a list of small changes you can make in how you behave in school and with your teachers, and see if that makes a difference.

For example, do you try to always be polite? Do you try to listen attentively in class? Are you careful to not interrupt? Do you always do your homework? Are you cooperative in class? Do you obey class rules? Do you work when you are supposed to work? If your teacher's have large classes do you try to wait your turn and ask for help politely? If you can answer "yes" to all of these questions, then go talk to your parents and explain how you feel and ask them for advice. A parent/teacher conference is not a bad idea, but the person who has to actually make the changes may be you.

Whenever there is a problem of this sort, there are always at least two sides to the story - your side, the teacher's side, and the real story, which might be something in between.

Good luck with sixth grade. The fact that you are asking for help is an excellent start.
