My little guy had a knee cap the kept moving, so they had to tie it down with surgery. He limps every now and then and this was almost 5 yrs ago. Arthritis developes with most knee injuries. Try a product call HIP CHIPS, by Greenie, Go to EntirelyPets.com They're not expensive (4.99 per bag). They contain Glucosomin and Chondroitin and MsM. Best thing I ever gave my little one.

Cruciate repair can be done in a couple of ways. The most recent type is a TPLO surgery where they cut and rotate the bone to stabilize the knee from the torn ACL (best for bigger dogs). The other way is where they use a nylon line and tighten up the joint to stabilize. If this way is don ethere is the chance the line has loosened or even broken, which is common in larger breed or very active dogs. The meniscus, if intact at the time of surgery and left in place, may have torn also. Both a loose/broken line or torn meniscus can cause limping. There is also the possibility the dog has developed severe arthritis in the knee, which is very common after surgery.
See your vet, discuss the type of surgery he had, and where to go from here.

These kinds of questions should be to your vet, hon. Your pup may or may not need further help, possibly even some type of physio. Just call the vet, no need for another visit. Take care of that puppy!

I would have the vet look at it. It can tear again, so it is best to get it checked. Sometimes, they will recast it, but other times they want to redo the surgery or just hope it recovers.

I wouldn't say he tore it, but the injury could have still flared up. I'd make him get plenty of rest, no real strenuous activity. Call a vet and ask their opinion.

i would ask ur vet about that. he might of twisted his knee the wrong way. usually when u break or tear something it doesn't heal all the way it will always bother u.

You'll need to get him evaluated by the vet again .It is possible that he reinjured himself if his activity wasn't restricted enough for as long as it needed to be.
