Ask a doctor. I would say right away. The reason so many kids have allergies nowadays is because of overprotective parents. Kids need to be exposed to allergens to be used to them.

If your baby doesn't have a reaction off of your clothing then you are fine. I think that those gentle detergents are a waste of money. you spend all that money on the laundry detergent but use shampoo powder lotion wipes that smell like lavender or what ever. Guys its all the same! Save your money use regular detergent with a good fabric softener.

You don't HAVE to use Dreft. the reason I used it was because I was worried that my children would have sensetive skin, or some sort of allergy to the scented detergents. But I started using regular detergent after a year or so.

I began at 1 year old but used dye and fragrance free until I was sure there were no allergies. Wash a few pieces such as under shirt and socks something that comes in contact with direct skin and watch for rashes or itching.

i never used dreft or any detergent catered towards babies. it is all a gimmick. test an article of your child's clothing with the detergent you use. if when he or she wears that outfit and no rash appears, then it is ok to switch. you should always do that test when you switch detergents, but you don't have to start with baby detergents. hope all of that makes sense.

It just depends...my first child...I washed everything in it till she was like 2 and that got extremely expensive when the second one came and the third so I decided to try out tide and see. Now some babies are extremely sensitive to certain soaps or laundry detergents but you can always try to decide if it works for your little one because not all little ones are that sensitive!! Good Luck and happy washing!!!

the thing about some of the detergents as well as fabric softener is that they are so harsh that they will take away the flame resistance that is made into the fabric of baby clothes. dreft is made not to do this. also it depends on your baby and just how sensitive their skin is. if all your wanting is fragrance i would definitely wait.

I never used a gentle detergent at all ... my daughter is 25 now and she never had any sort of skin irritation. My baby doctor told me that unless an infant shows signs of skin irritation, there is no need to use a special detergent.

Check with your pediatrician so you will have correct and accurate information. It may well depend on whether or not your child has allergies or other kinds of problems that could be affected by the detergent you use.

Good luck!!

Powder or Liquid doesnt extremely make a distinction its the components in them that reasons injury to the ecosystem. maximum laundry detergents available will comprise phosphates and different chemical components that injury the ecosystem. instead you need to purchase thoroughly organic liquid and powder detergents that are thoroughly organic and made out of organic products - no phosphates & chemical components. greater perfect on your clothing, greater perfect for you and greater perfect for the ecosystem.
