Yes
Christianity teaches hopelessness. Its disguised as Hope in the next life.
Some christians even would say, that depression you feel now is a Good thing?!?!. Trying times etc 'testing your faith'
So as to make you hang on to the hopelessness of this life in exchange for the next.
Get out of christianity altogether.
Its not the way to peace
Its not just a nice little religion, its destructive!!!!
Maybe Jesus had something decent to say many many many years ago, but modern christianinsanity is rubbish. From moderate christianity to fundies.
If you havent read the bible in its original, then you havent ever really read the bible at all. translations are so screwed up nowadays. Jesus never promised it was going to be perfect.

Christianity is essentially a criminal business enterprise... in fact, it is the world's longest running and most successful Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam. The product they are selling is the illusion of 'salvation'... and the 'pay plan' doesn't kick in until after you're dead. Meanwhile the victims (having been deceived into believing that it is their God-given duty) are out there recruiting MORE victims. What a racket! FORTUNATELY, it only works on those who are gullible enough, and sufficiently lacking in critical thinking skills, to fall for it. UNfortunately, THAT accounts for about 75% of the population of the USA. (There are a lot more people who DON'T know how to think properly than there are people who DO know how to think properly.) That is why there are a lot more religious people in the USA than there are 'Free-thinkers'... including Atheists. Also, Christians are generally too dense to realize that proselytizing (spreading the 'good news') is a key element of the Christian MLM MARKETING PLAN, which was instituted after Christianity lost the political power that had previously allowed them to simply torture and kill anybody who did not comply. Now, they obliviously try to just pester and annoy people to death, through persistent obnoxiousness. If you stop to think about it, you will realize that Christians are very much like the Borg, on Star Trek Next Generation: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." I would not be surprised to learn that thoughts of Christianity provided the 'creative spark' for the Borg concept.
Interestingly, statistics on supernatural beliefs count the USA on a par with backward, developing Third World nations, rather than among modern, advanced industrial powers.

The "joy of jesus" is really a description of the ability of human beings to use the afterlife to give purpose to their life. Moreover, and here's the interesting part, it makes it so that *death is not a release.* Without the existence of an afterlife, we have the ability to kill ourselves and cease to exist. If we feel our pain is greater than our happiness, we have that option. Once you introduce an afterlife into the picture, killing yourself just makes it worse. My point?
People have more incentive to life if they think there's an afterlife of the nature of which is dependent upon their mortal life. If they think there's a crappy afterlife, they want to live as much as possible. If they think there's a happy afterlife even if there's suicide... well there you get those cult suicides that come up. If you're like me, and don't fear death, you wonder what's stopping you from killing yourself... not that you need to, but if you did, why wouldn't you?
Religion gives a de facto answer to this question. It's a matter of convience.

One of the things that new Christians experience, especially at the beginning of their walk with Christ, is intense spiritual attack. Satan hates that you are no longer his, and will seek to pull you away from the truth. These attacks come in many forms. Depression, financial, social, the list goes on.
To maintain your sanity, it takes a dependence on Christ. That's where our joy is found. You are used to looking to the world for joy, the world has only emptiness. Now that you have accepted him, the things that seemed so wonderful you can see the truth behind. There should be no mistake, life as a Christian will always be hard. However, God has given us the ability to endure it if we will rely on him. Don't focus on the things that this world tells us bring happiness. They only bring momentary satisfaction that leaves us hungry.
God's Word is where we can delight in truth and the promises he has given us. Remember, we have eternal life in him.
Sin is something that will make us dispair as well. Having Christ means that we realize just how wicked we are, and we are seeking to change that about ourselves. It's natural to hate ourselves, and at some points appropriate. But remember, God created you and loves you, he does not want you to be miserable dwelling only on our sins. Our sins serve as reminders, but they can overtake us if we are not careful. Remember the beauty in God that we have to look forward to, both in this life and the next.
Make certain to stay close to Christians that have been in the faith longer so that they can help you with your burden, many of them have been through the same things.
God Bless and I pray that you will continue on in the faith as you have begun.

Absolutely!. Religion in general is a way to control the masses and nothing more. Don't fall for it or for the people who place more value in heaven and saving your soul, than on enjoying the life you have been given. You only have one life so you better make sure you enjoy every minute of it within your defined set of moral ethics. As for your spirtual beliefs they are yours no matter what journey you take and no-one can take them from you. Just avoid organised religion like the plague that it really is.

yes the joy of jesus was false, before converting, they should have told you that in jesus it won´t be always happy and joy, sometimes God will test you to see if your being loyal and truthful to him. of course i don´t mean you be sad al the time, i just mean you´ll have tests in you life so you can advance in your christian life. But all this is okay because Jesus died for our sins and because of that we get to go to heaven if you believe in him, then, when we´re in heaven , then we will have everlasting joy.

When you have the Lord Jesus in you're life I think you begin to see how awesome and perfect he is and how sinful we are. I think the reason that you feel bad all the time is becasue your feel convicted about your sins. Just ask forgiveness for the things you do and then try to do better and you will be happy again..

If what you are saying is true - you have been getting your information from the wrong source - Christians have been persecuted from the beginning of Gods kingdom - He even speaks of it in the Bible - if you have not been getting your information from the Bible - well we have found your problem.
