Ooooo. Pretty tough.
Most types of cancers are genetic, meaning that you are more likely to get them if you have a family history.
However, you have a few things in your favor.
Many types of lung and other cancers are caused by smoking. So don't smoke.
Heart disease can be controlled better if you diet and exercise.
Also, there are a lot more preventative measures for cancer and tests that can happen. So see your doctor regularly.
Good luck.

There are many different types of cancers (blood, bone, organ, etc) and various modalities for treating each. As a simple object lesson...cancer can oftentimes be traced back to oxidative stress to the cellular [lipid] membranes which can adversely impact our DNA. To neutralize or reduce this process, one must increase their level of antioxidants through the ingestion of fruits and vegetables (not synthetic supplements like A, C and E). The data is already very conclusive on this. For your edification, I've posted some excellent research on my Yahoo Briefcase which you can freely download: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/apuzyr There is other information there, as well, which you may also find useful pertaining to high protein diets, building up the immune system, ideal blood tests, macular degeneration, diabetic neuropathy, free radicals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, synthetic vitamins vs whole food, etc.

Hopefully through research they will eventually be able to diagnose certain cancers through blood tests, even create vaccines for them once it's understood how cancer develops and why (ie defective genes?).
The fact it's in your family history should lead you to have yearly check ups, things like colonocopies (for polyps that can turn to cancer), MRI's and CT scans at least every few years.
Of course avoid carcinogenics..it's hard as our air is so polluted that no one is immune to cancer anymore. My son is 11 and got cancer with no history of it anywhere in our family. So who knows. You can't worry about dying...you just have to live and make the most of what you have today in the here and now. It's all we have that we can be sure of.

You need to go and have a physical every year and make sure you get the right blood work done, and also the right tests, chest ax ray, stress test, Colon ostomey. You did not mention your age or if you smoke or if you are a male or female but being checked for prostate or a mammogram is a good idea also. Your doctor will give you the answers you are looking for. You just need to ask the right questions.

First of all, none of us are getting out of here alive. We've gotta die of something.
The various and sundry forms of cancer are unique and idiosyncratic. Some types are genetic, others not. You need to know the exact types, and do some research. In the mean time, stay in shape, eat a low fat diet, avoid toxins and excess stress. Share your concerns with your doctor...he's got a lot more information on this than I do.

sound like a mold or a chemical substance or something else.
is that possible?
diets against cancer and for heart diseases might help. Ask for some books. (doc)
a mixture of for example:
Phytolacca americana D3, Arnika montana D29, Copper sulphate D4, VisCum album D4, Viola tricolor D2, (i think) Olea europaea D4, (i think) pimpinell (but you will have to ask) german : bibernell D2
the german name of this medication is phytolacca vitaplex
30-40 drops in water 3 times a day before meal to detoxify tissue blood and so on
this works as a cancer preventive.
(source: book: the better pills - german: Die besseren Pillen)
Crataegus is good for the heart - tea for example.
but ask a doc. maybe him knows something better
Note Viscum not visum

Live a healthy lifestyle. Follow a good diet with lots of fruit and veggies, limit red meat but make sure to get enought protein with fish and chicken, exercise daily, get enough sleep. Also, get a physical every year including lab work.
We all need to follow this lifestyle but more important for you with your family history. Your health FUTURE is not written in stone--your can change the course of YOUR history.
