There are specialized exercizes for different areas of the body, and these firm up that area,,, but for losing fat that has caused a 'too big' problem, both diet and exercize are necessary. For the waistline and abdomen, there are a few, sit-ups of various kinds, twists in which you sit or stand and turn your body from the waist to the left and right,,, cross overs where you stand with legs apart and reach your left foot with your right hand, keeping your legs straight, standing with legs apart and leaning over to the right while stretching the left arm up, and then reverse. These exercizes should be included in a general program, along with a diet that is appropriate.

Nope, you need to incorporate cardio into your routine...eat healthy. you can do a zillion and one sit ups and NEVER have that flat tummy. buy a fitness magazine, they have the same information in there over and over every month. But people don't get it, they want a simple and easy way of getting rid of the love handles...regardless of if you tell someone 800 times what they need to do, the answer is never good enough. we all want to get the results the fastest and easiest way...the magazines tell you, you just need to follow what they say. good luck.

No....sit ups are good but you can't lose several pounds just by doing them. Anything on any given infomercial that says otherwise is a scam.
You gotta put in diet and exercise, too.

Try aerobic exercising and a good diet. Aerobic exercising is fun. Did it in high school, even though didn't need it but had to take a gym class.... :^/
