The Holy Ghost and The Holy Spirit are the same thing. Yes, it is a sin to blaspheme the Holy Ghost/Spirit and yes it is unforgivable. (Matthew 12:31-32) However blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is not something you can "accidentally" do. It is very deliberate vilification that you really mean to do. As far as "feeling" the presence of Jesus goes: Never trust your feelings. He's always there, whether you sense Him or not.

To turn away from the Holy Spirit and follow a different god or idol to the point of blaspheme is the unforgivable sin. the reason is that the Holy Spirit is the last administration on Earth. Before Christ it was the Father administration. When Jesus was here it was the Son administration and now it is the Holy Spirit aspect of God that is in charge of things in the kingdom here on Earth. it is the last frontier, so to speak before the return of Christ and the last opportunity to attain the reconciliation with the Father. If you turn away now there may not be another chance.

It is the only unforgivable sin, so anybody who says you can return to Jesus is either full of crap or uneducated. Luke 12:10 who don't believe me.

Personally, I have blasphemed the Holy Spirit many times (I personally think if he exists, he is the most ineffective diety ever conceived. I mean, if every Christian claims the direction and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, yet no two of them can agree on anything, just how crappy a diety is the HS?).

Since I have done this, I have no hope of going to heaven according to the bible. So all you Christians who try to convert me from atheism, don't bother. God already said I cannot be forgiven, and give it a rest.

yes it is a sin. There is a way to take it back. If you confess you self to God he will forgive you. The Bible says, Seeking and HE(God) will show you, asking and He will answer you, knocking and he open it for you. So to tell you the trust I have blaspheme the Holy Ghost once but when I was in a Church I felt the presence of Jesus so I started to confess my self to Him and asked Him for His forgiveness.... And HE does!

Blasphemy is while somebody speaks of the Lord in an irreverent, impious way. To revile and execrate the holy spirit is blasphemy. It brings damnation because of the fact God's Holy Spirit is dwelling, effectual and dynamic; it extremely is responsive. Messing with it, interior the way of blashemy, is risky because of the fact like the skill interior the Ark of the Covenant, it could have detrimental skill over its enemies. in case you tell some guy on the line off and extremely positioned him down, he's fullyyt a guy or woman and can't do plenty to come again at you except he pulls out a .38 or something; in case you rail against the holy of holies, it woud be like taking on the detrimental skill of the Ark of the Covenant.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit or the unforgiveable sin is an ongoing, continuous rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ until your last breath. That is the only unforgiveable sin.

You could not have yet committed the fullness of that sin.

The way to remedy it is to repent (turn from sin to the Father through Jesus).

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost for a non-believer is rejecting God's gift repeatedly until the day of death.

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost for a believer is much more serious and is covered extensively in Hebrews 6:4-10.

Most Christians don't understand this passage because of just plain bad teaching in the church.

Write me at leaving @ thelastrump.com and I'd be happy to elaborate more extensively. (no spaces in the email address)

My advanced Greek class chose this as the verse they wanted to completely understand, and it took us half the semester before we thoroughly understood it.

What it boils down to is who qualifies. I know that sounds weird, but "It is impossible for THOSE WHO" The category of "those who" is restricted to a very limited number of people. And the sin involved is a military term translated "defect" in extra-biblical writings. You actually have to defect from the faith and do so willfully. But you have to be qualified to do so.

Write me.

Yes, it is. The Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit ARE the same thing, and by blaspheming him, you're blaspheming God. Happily, there is a way to take it back. You need to confess your sin to God and (I believe) to a priest. Ask for forgiveness, perform penance, welcome God back into your life, and then work hard not to do it again.

Believe it or not it takes a lot to become a true son of perdition (blaspheme against the holy ghost) First you have to hold th Melchizedek Priesthood, having received endowments in his holy Temple of God, and then having a perfect knowledge Jesus Christ, having communed with Christ. Then turning completely away and persecuting Christ and his Church.
