Participating in anything in high school can get you scholarships. Especially if it's community oriented. Scholarships are normally given to those who achieve a lot of good or have a type of leadership status. Think politics when trying to get a scholarship.

By the way, JROTC is good but there will be a heavy influence to join the military after you graduate. Can't use a scholarship when Uncle Sam owns you (personal experience).

you can get scholarships by joining JROTC, but I don't think - for girls - that it is good idea because the sergeants are going to cook your brains. i suggest joining a club and becoming a president of it.

i didn't join it, but i know some people that were in it, and they changed so much.

It depends on the school. Most schools say that they are not recruiters. So most likely you have a good chance with the scolarship.
