I need to know if you have to use a radio install kit for a 1997 mustang. It is'nt GT or any thing just plain jane.

if it is a regular din size radio you do not need one,l the aftermarket radio you are installing should have a cage. that you will need.

iif you buy a new radio from www.crutchfield.com it will come with a new install plate already cut for your car also if you are changing the stock stereo in you car you are going to need a new wiring arness for your steroe which you can get at best buy for about $20 but i think crutchfield includes this for free also.
