My fiance's grandmother was 18 when she met his grandfather, 25 (the same ages we are now, so his family says it's Fate, Karma, Destiny LoL), they met and were married within 6 weeks time. Yes, weeks, not months.
Sure, times were a little different back then, but his grandfather just passed away a couple months ago, and they had such a happy marriage, I forget how many years, but it doesn't really matter.
I asked his grandmother when she told me about it all if she ever wondered if they'd done things too fast, and all she said was "why? it worked out didn't it? all you need is love." and then she started singing
"Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy.
There's nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time
It's easy.
All you need is love, all you need is love."
Of course being a music buff I joined in after the first line or so, and her daughters (the fiance's mom & aunt) came over and started singing too, he wandered in, looked at us like we were crazy and walked back out.
Maybe we were, but now I know that we've been together for 5 months now, and we're totally ready to make any commitment in the world to eachother, though I'd still like some more time to plan the wedding...

My husband and I were friends for about a year, started dating, dated for a little over a month, got engaged, and were engaged for not quite 6 months. We've been married for over 18 1/2 years.

we met in May, started dating in July, were engaged in August, and were married in May and the only reason we waited that long was because of the timing and availability of the church, pastor, family etc.
We've been married for 18 1/2 years and have 3 beautiful teenagers.
;)

our engagement has been almost 2 years. we've been together a total of 5 yrs. I think we would have gotten married sooner, but we had our son young, and didnt want to get married just because of that, and then i started college, and we just wanted to wait entil it was a good break for me at school to get hitched.
