Does New Orleans have grocery stores? (I'm serious)?

I'm looking for a grocery store or supermarket. I mean a large building (bigger than a convenience store) that contains fresh produce, a meat section, a bread/deli section, and so forth.

Please do not give me a list of places that you find on Google that are said to be 'grocery stores in New Orleans', because they often turn out to be small convenience stores, even if they have "supermarket" in the title. Please help!

For the record...I'm asking this because I'm in New Orleans right now, and I'm looking for a grocery store to buy fresh fruit and veggies, bread, etc.

Royal Grocery on Royal street. It has everything you need. The markets in the city won't be as huge as the ones just outside. Metairie,kenner,etc.

There are really not markets or groceries around here. If you need food, I would recommend the West Bank (Harvey, La) or Metairie.

there have to be supermarkets there now if not then the over 200,000 people who live ther now would not have returned. the biggest need there is competent medical facilities. there are not enough doctors, nurses, technicians of every kind much less hospitals.

i would consider taking a drive to williams blvd in kenner...there is a wal-mart neighborhood market...trust me it has all the food you are looking for
