How can I convince my landlord to let me draw happy faces with sharpies on the ceiling above my bed?

I think I could fall asleep quicker if I had something to look at as I lie in bed.

Scribble away! Buy some Kilz before you move & just cover up all those little smiling faces. Your landlord will never even know the difference! Unless, of course, your landlord frequents your bedroom ;-)

I would go ahead and do it either paint it on and when you leave paint over it, or get stickers that can be easily removed when you leave. But I really don't see any need in telling the land lord that you are going to do it. or just tape some nice pictures on the ceiling if you just want something to look at before you fall asleep.

Great Question...As a collector of smiley faces (over 300 of them here in my office) Plus my avatar is usually some sort of smiley art...I see nothing wrong with yer smileyface doodles...it's not like yer landlord is going to come into yer room right? Just make sure if you ever move out...grab yerself a can of paint...but don't paint a smiley on the ceiling....well wait ...yes! Paint one on to add to the creative art you already have going on there...then take a picture of it for memory sake and to show me...I'll put it up here in my office!! hehe But then after you take the picture...put up that shiny coat of paint and you should be good to go..plus get yer Cleaning depost back..LOL

p.s. That's a very nice picture of you...you remind me of a teen idol movie star that's played in many movies!! Stay handsome!

p.s.s. Here's something to add to yer smiley face ceiling drawings...take a look at my 360 photos...their all smiley! Print them out and add that to yer ceiling..High five for smileys!!

Well maybe you should just do it and not ask i mean i don't think he is always going in your room to check on you so go for it and draw whatever you want!

you should go over your contracte with your landlord if you own the house then you can do what you want with your house but if it don't own the house then the bank owns it and you should if you do do it then i would repaint the house before you sell it because thouse smilly faceis will louse you value on your house so remember to R E P A I N T or value will go down on you

if you don't mind to paint it back to the original ceiling color, you can explain your thoghts to your landlord and sign a contract with him stating that you will paint the ceiling back when you move out.

I am allowed to do anything I want to my house as long as it is tasteful and If its not, It is easily removed......maybe you tell your landlord that when you leave, you will make sure it isn't there anymore so they won't have to worry about it........

don't ask, you can do whatever you would like to your apartment. just paint over it when you leave...but sharpies are difficult to paint over.

ps. i hope you didn't pay a large security deposit because you aren't getting it back.

just do it and b4 you move put primer over it, he'll never know. You should use glow in the dark paint or stars so you'll be able to see them in the dark!! have fun.
