His hindlegs were giving out and he was going in cirles all the time , but he always found his way to the bedroom and hadn't made any mistakes in the house . I miss him as his little friend's do too . They keep looking for him in his bed and when they eat .
I just know that he is chasing rabbits . He wasn't able to do that for the last 2 yr , now he can again .

It sounds like you made the hardest decision and the best one for a much loved friend.
It is never easy to decide when. But when the quality of life is not there it is time.
I am soory for your loss and know that your Buddy is now at the Rainbow Bridge where he is well and whole and happy again and will be waiting for you.

That is called Tuff Love punkin. I know I just had to do it to an old friend of mine. The other dogs still look for her and I reach over at the table all the time trying to hand her a bite of food like I always did for 12 years and she is no longer there. My heart skips a beat and I go on and so will you. You did the right thing and stopped the suffering and pain. The angels will smile when they walk with your Buddy.

Absolutely! Making the decision to put your dog down is the most difficult decision a responsible pet owner can make. Your dog had a long life, being 16 yrs old. There is no sense in allowing him to suffer. Go pamper yourself tonight, and enjoy your fond memories of your little friend, but don't lose sleep over your decision. It's because you loved him so much that you made this decision, so accept that it simply was his time, and don't beat yourself up over it.

What you did was very hard for you but I think you know in your heart that what you did was the best thing for Buddy - that it was time to let him go.

You know he had a long and happy life so you'll soon be able to remember all the good times you had with him.

You did the right thing.

charlie walked in circles too. but at night i had to put her in the laundry area because she would pee. she wasn't alone, our younger dog would stay with her, on the other side of the doggie gate. the last night charlie started barking. the younger dog came and woke me up. i held charlie all night, hoping she would die in my arms. the 2 dogs and myself fell asleep on the laundry room floor. charlie was still alive the next morning. now her hind legs couldn't hold her up and she made crying sounds. i took her to the vet that same morning and had her put to sleep. we buried her in our backyard that evening.that was 4 yrs ago. i know she is up there with all of her furry friends having a great time, just like your buddy is. YES, you did the right thing

I had to do the same thing to my golden retreiver (lung cancer)

I KNOW IT HURTS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH (for me not the dog)

1) yes you did the right thing
2) he/she no longer feels anytihng but healthiness

HOW TO COPE:
I have a picture of my dog right nex tot my bed on my dresser

I cried for like 3 days straight, but then decided it wasn't gonna change anything

I learned all the facts on how humane it was

I try to think about him everyday (just past a 1 year anniversery)

Put your mind at ease, you did the right thing.
sixteen years with him is about five more years than others get with their beloved companions.

The loss is with you always just like the loss of a well loved family member
