So, that was just one meal in a lifetime, not the end of the world. One slip up will not end your course. You can think back on it and discover what triggered you to eat that and try to find something else healthy and constructive that you like to do when a trigger comes up. Another day is another start and it is unreasonable for most people to eat perfectly 24/7. I have a horrible sweet tooth and I have to allow myself a small sweet treat a couple times a week (about 200 calories per treat) or else I will gorge on the weekends. I just have to eat healthier any other time I'm eating. There is a fine in determining the difference between slip-ups and denial. A slip up happens once in a while and won't put weight back on (depends on metabolism though) and is not dietary failure. Even being in denial and chronically 'slipping up' isn't failure when a person recognizes that they are gaining weight back and does what they need to do to get the wieght off and keep it off. I use a particular pair of jeans as my measurement of how I'm doing.

It is important every once in a while to have a high calorie meal or high calorie day in order to boost your metabolism. If it's a high calorie meal, go all out and eat whatever you want till you're stuffed. If it's a high calorie day, eat clean foods (low fat) all day long till you're eating about 500 calories over your maintenence. Don't worry about last night. If your dieting has been strict the rest of the time, this won't even add any wieght to you. Just get back on track and keep exercising.

Diets don't work since 99% gain it back. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

You probably had about 1200 calories instead of 300 that you would have had on your diet. That';s about 1/3 of a pound of weight gain. Don't worry about it.
I lost 20 pounds in 6 months and still allowed myself fast food once every two weeks.

Did you have a binge while you were there? If not, don't worry about it!
So you fell off the wagon once! Don't sweat it! Just get back on!
BTW, why McDonalds? Never mind the fact that their food is packed with calories, but it's just plain unhealthy.
See the movie "Super-size Me" for more info about that.

No, you're fine. Slipping up once in awhile is normal! Just get back on the wagon now. I have my clients discipline themselves 6 days a week with their eating, and tell them to have one free day a week. They love it! It works too! You're fine! Go for it girl! Keep on keepin on!

You didn't blow your diet at all. Don't beat yourself up over it. Sometimes it's good to add a few more calories into our diet and I find that it jumpstarts my metabolism. Tomorrow is a new day and just dust yourself off and pick up where you left off. No harm done. :)

Mc Donalds is awful for you. Full of crap and trans fats. Never ever eat there.
Your diet isn't totally blown though, just keep excerisizing and counting calories
