you should talk to him and make sure he's not fakin the sweet and nice guy act. if he's not, then you should ask him out. but like a lot of ppl said, he's still capable of hurting you, just as any other guy is. just go slow, be patient and get to know him better. you two could turn out to be great friends.

I don't know many people my age, younger and older that didn't get somewhat of a bad reputation sometime in their life. People are so cruel now. People make mistakes but there are people out there that will never let them forget their mistakes. Believe me I know. I am a white female. In my past, one thing happened 27 years ago. I dated a black guy. People still talk about it like I am nothing but trash. I have finally learned to just blow it off and not let it make me cry or get me so depressed. I dated a guy that had a bad reputation several years ago and I knew what he did was true. But I saw the good in him. I gave him a chance and he was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was so happy with him and he treated me so good. But he got killed in a car wreck several years ago. I would say, give this guy a chance because people do change. I have changed in many different ways in my 45 years of life. Just be careful and take it all slow and easy. Forget what everyone else says. People are always going to gossip and be ignorant. People are always going to judge each other no matter what. They will pay for judging others someday. Be happy, but be careful too. Hope it all works out for you. You only live once----live life to the fullest. Good luck.

If you really like the guy and feel he is compatible with yourself I say let go for it but be alert and aware of his reputation because anyone can seem nice and sweet until you are around them alot and get to know more about them their real side can come out but he could be a really nice guy that just made some bad choices

that happened to me, he had a reputation for dating younger girls to get some, and i didn't know about it, HOWEVER, when i found out i ended it b/c in my opinion guys never change from being perverts. Unless he was just a little delinquent, in that case he could have changed (A walk to remember!!! lol)

proceed but cautiously...keep an eye open for any of that old bad boy behavior
you didnt mention why he had a bad rep but if it was something serious, maybe you should just let a wild one go free
