Well that's not true. A lot of men are taking the more passive route right now. Letting the girl wear the pants, whether he'll admit it or not. Not trying to argue that men tend to be more dominant than women. Just saying it's not quite as lopsided as it was several years ago.

Because they look at women as the weaker sex and as the culture of society they rank man higher than women. This is because of their biological make up as some would say while others would say its not a biological thing but rather a societal thing. (meaning that because women is seen a the child bearer they have to stay at home and take care of children and men have to work and provide for the family meanin being the head of the house hold therefore they would dorminate because they control the finances in the household. While other suggest that men dorminate because we live in a patriarchial society where man is in control of the most important things in society.

men do not always seek to dominate. i am not an "alpha" male.. however, there are times in which i do dominate, and take control, while there are others that my g/f takes control and dominates the situation...
the desire of domination is not a gender-specific trait.
it is a human-specific trait.
it has always been in history, and it will always be in the future.

It is a remnant of the earlier superority of men in physical strength which alone matter in the struggle for survival. Are you aware that we have retained a lot of our earlier characteristic albeit in a sublimated form. Have you ever seen a dog. Before it lies down it takes a round about itself. This was the earlier caution shown by its ancestor to ensure everything was safe about the place. Again a dog defacating trying to scratch the earth. It was the eagerness of its ancestors not to leave any trace of itself behind them to prevent predators following them.Have you watched yourself in mirror when you are angry? Yours nostrils puff up. This was what remains of your ancestors, perhaps sub-human ancestors, who caught the prey in their jaws leading to puffing up of the nose muscles.A trace of it still remains in us.The male chauvinism is also a residue of that age of male superiority. While that might have been useful for survival then it does more damage now but it will take some time before it finally disappears.Habits diie hard.

Because they are inferior to women, remember Adam and Eve
It's just like those little dogs, they are so feisty and always barking at bigger dogs

Actually, God gave them that right. They just take it a little far sometimes. Sometimes you just gotta say, "Hey, shut up and sit down."
