I have a severe fear of flying.Usually I take a nerve pill about an hour before I have to get on the plane.I have an ongoing presciption, but sometimes doctors will give you a couple of pills. The worst part for me is when the plane is taking off,b/c I feel like I am on a roller coaster which I refuse to go on.Once I am in the air I am fine.I always fear bombs and now hijackers.I really do not think they will target planes again for a while,I think they will go for mass transit next. But I still get extremely nervous flying. When I had to take a flight from Orlando Florida to Missouri,to take my kids home after visitation,i really had a fear.I kept thinking that if something went wrong,I was the one that put them in harms way.Thank God everything turned out OK.

I have a strong fear of flying. I have been getting better about but it still bugs me. When I get on the plane I just focus on anything but flying. I bring lots of reading material. Before I have to fly I always think about how there is like no chance of anything going wrong and people fly all the time and nothing happens. If that doesn't work I get a perscription for xanax and it helps.

I love flying. I prefer to fly at night because you can see all the pretty lights when you take off or land. I think flying is very relaxing. The DC-10 is a nice wide comfortable plane.

Yes I was terrified of flying and I worked for an international airline for 31 years (ground agent)..for the first 17 years of my employment I never went anywhere even though I got free passes.....then AIDS came along and most of my friends were dying --some horrible deaths...and I stopped being afraid of death or not in control or whatever...I don't mean that I'm religious or believe in life after death or anything...I just realized that this is my ONE life and I had better start living it....Or as my mother always told me "Do what you're most afraid of".

Yes. I'm entirely tense the whole flight, I don't talk to anyone, I don't budge until we touch land again. I hate flying!

No, I don't. Just don't look out of the window...and make sure to pop your ears frequently. It can actually be quite exciting and fun!
