This is what happens when a person dies:
"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again."--Ecclesiastes 3:19,20
When someone dies they return to the ground, just as the Scripture says. Death is like being in a deep sleep without dreams. The dead are unable to feel anything and they know nothing. Ecclesiastes 9:10 tells us: "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."
Psalms 146:4: " His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."
Those who have died will be resurrected either to life in God's heavenly government or to eternal life on earth.
This is a good Scripture to show the future of earths inhabitants: Psalms 37:9-11: " For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."

When the human body dies, the spirit essence goes Home to join the rest...there is no reason to stand before God, or a Lord, or anyone else, unless of course, you'd like to...nor is there what you conceive as a Judgement Day, other than that of going over your previous life's accomplishments of growth & your plans for continuing such.
Keep in mind that returning from an Earth life is a great celebration...you have lived in the most negative place of all creation...been a warrior, of sorts...a most courageous soul...no doubt many hugs all around!

Time is only relevant in a material universe.
Being IN the time-space dimension, we errantly think that time is an absolute and limits all beings.
God, being outside the time-space-matter dimension that he himself created, is not limited by time. Neither are non-corporeal spirits.
When people die, they enter the dimension of God at a place, a status, a level, but not a time.
The simple answer to your question is that they immediately stand before the Lord.

Neither! When you die your spirit is the only thing that goes back to God. In other words it is what gives you the ability to live goes back to God. You are not floating around as a ghost, you are not in heaven, and you are definitely not in hell. Your spirit is the breath of life which came from God and it goes back to God. The dead know nothing of the living or what goes on in their lives for they are DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!! If you read Ecclestiastes and and other books of the Bible such as Psalms, Job, etc. you'll find out what happens to the dead. The dead do not live again until the Second coming of Christ. The dead are in their graves unaware of what is going on under the sun.

They are in the spirit world, some in prison, some in paradise. They are resting, but still progressing. They do not have physical bodies, only spirit bodies. Some have been resurrected since the resurrection of Christ, all do not resurrect at once, as we are not all born at once nor die at once. All will be resurrected at the second coming and judgment day.

II Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, then I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." This is talking to born again Christians (the church). It is safe to say if christians are with the Lord immeadiately after death, then the lost, unsaved world is immeadiately in Hell.

Each person's soul is judged immediately after death, and goes to the place which they deserve (heaven, hell, purgatory). At judgement day, all will be raised and reunited with their bodies. Then Jesus will judge all of humanity - taking his sheep with him into heaven with their glorified bodies. The damned will be cast into hell, where the physical suffering will increase the anguish they had previously only suffered spiritually.

WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT DEATH
Jesus Christ spoke about the condition of the dead. He did so with regard to Lazarus, a man whom he knew well and who had died. Jesus told his disciples: “Lazarus our friend has gone to rest.” The disciples thought that Jesus meant that Lazarus was resting in sleep, recovering from an illness. They were wrong. Jesus explained: “Lazarus has died.” (John 11:11-14) Notice that Jesus compared death to rest and sleep. Lazarus was neither in heaven nor in a burning hell. He was not meeting angels or ancestors. Lazarus was not being reborn as another human. He was at rest in death, as though in a deep sleep without dreams. Other scriptures also compare death to sleep. For example, when the disciple Stephen was stoned to death, the Bible says that he “fell asleep.” (Acts 7:60) Similarly, the apostle Paul wrote about some in his day who had “fallen asleep” in death.—1 Corinthians 15:6.
The Bible teaches that the dead “are conscious of nothing at all.” They are not alive and have no conscious existence anywhere. The account of Lazarus confirms this. Upon returning to life, did Lazarus thrill people with descriptions of heaven? Or did he terrify them with horrible tales about a burning hell? No. The Bible contains no such words from Lazarus. During the four days that he was dead, he had been “conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Lazarus had simply been sleeping in death.—John 11:11.
The account of Lazarus also teaches us that the resurrection is a reality, not a mere myth. Jesus raised Lazarus in front of a crowd of eyewitnesses. Even the religious leaders, who hated Jesus, did not deny this miracle.
Think about this too: If Lazarus had been in heaven for those four days, would he not have said something about it?— And if he had been in heaven, would Jesus have made him come back to earth from that wonderful place?— Of course not!
Yet, many people say that we have a soul, and they say that the soul lives on after the body dies. They say that Lazarus’ soul was alive somewhere. But the Bible does not say that. It says that God made the first man Adam “a living soul.” Gen. 2:7, Adam was a soul. The Bible also says that when Adam sinned, he died. He became a “dead soul,” and he returned to the dust from which he had been made. The Bible also says that all Adam’s offspring inherited sin and death too.
The Scriptural teaching of the resurrection, however, is not compatible with the doctrine of the immortality of the soul. If an immortal soul survived death, no one would need to be resurrected, or brought back to life. Indeed, Martha expressed no thought about an immortal soul that was living on elsewhere after death. She did not believe that Lazarus had already gone to some spirit realm to continue his existence. On the contrary, she showed her faith in God’s purpose to reverse the effects of death. She said: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:23, 24) Likewise, Lazarus himself related no experiences of some afterlife. There was nothing to report.
Clearly, according to the Bible, the soul dies and the remedy for death is the resurrection. You enjoy the best sleep ever, until Jesus resurrects you, sometime in the future.

All spirits after Jesus was resurrected and went to heaven are in Hades(not Hell). hades is a holding place for the spirits of the dead. And when Jesus comes to get His people, the dead are then taken up with those who are alive to Him and we are changed. And then we meet God for Judgment Day.

i believe the only person truly fit to judge us is our self .. and in my teachings we are told this
we judge our self .. our actions in this life towards others can hurt and for a moment we feel the hurt we have caused others and are able to judge our self on those actions
everything we do in life is relative to us and only we can truly understand the reasons behind our actions
so no i don't feel we stand before anyone but our self .. and i don't believe in judgement day sorry i feel this would be instant xx
