First...speak to a doctor about wether or not u may have a thyroid disorder. I forget it's name but there is one that makes weight loss a SEVERE challenge. Also take into account your ethnicity. Black, Spanish, Irish and few others have a tendancy to be bottom heavy. So if u happen to be Assy-and-classy with hips and thighs try not to panic too much. Tips...if u have a bike or skates or prefer running pick one and do it upon first waking. This forces your body to use FAT as a primary source of energy. Joining a gym may work also...Lucille Roberts if u have time, another that opens earlier if u don't and run that process. No more than 30 mins though. Keep at the dieting also and u should be fine.

The best thing that worked for me was watching the carbs in my diet. Carbs turn into sugar in your body and you'd be surprised where they lurk, for example potatoes are high in carbs, which means high in sugar. Try a low carb or no carb diet. I lost 3 lbs the first week and continued to drop 1-2 pounds a week, I know that doesn't sound like a lot but it adds up. Also limit your self to 15 carbs for snack and 30 carbs for meal. Have a 15 carb snack before breakfast, 30 carb breakfast, 15 carb snack, 30 carb lunch, 15 carb snack, 30 carb dinner, thena 15 carb snack. I know it sounds like a lot of food but it's not if you keep it to the carb count, basically you can eat all the meat and fish you want, but cut down on bread (1 slice had 15 carbs, 1 8oz glass of milk has 15 carbs etc) and other foods high in carbs, also stay away from soda and soft drinks that aren't diet and watch your fruit too because although fruit is good for you, it is high in natural sugar. Try a site similiar to this http://www.lowcarb.ca/atkins-diet-and-low-carb-plans/

-first and foremost, get a complete physical to rule out any medical conditions that may be contributing to your weight problems. your doctor should approve any weight loss plan before you start it. perhaps request a referral to a nutritionist.
with that being said, here are some things you can try on your own
-drink as much water as you can.
-eat water-dense fruits, like grapes or melons, and vegetables to fill you up without a lot of calories.
-asparagus is especially good for flushing excess water weight. i don't know the chemistry behind it but it works.
-try to keep your calories around 1500 (higher will not likely help you lose weight unless you're extremely active, lower will put your body into starvation mode and it will store most of what you eat as fat for energy).
-eat 2-3 oz of lean proteins at a time. larger portions metabolise slower and can also end up being stored as fat.
-eat several small meals a day, 2-3 hours apart instead of 3 larger meals.
-eat breakfast every day.
-eat your largest meal earlier in the day (either breakfast or lunch) so you get the energy and nutrition and have the rest of your day to burn off the calories.
-do not cut out all fats and carbs, but try to stick to healthy fats (such as olive oil or fatty fish like salmon) and try to avoid refined sugars and starches.
-walk, swim, bike for low impact exercise that's fun and doesn't feel like work.
-keep a food journal and write down everything you eat. you may see patterns in your eating habits that you can adjust once you are aware of them.
-keep a success journal, recording your weight, your measurements, your daily exercise and your feelings about this experience. this is a great way to track your progress and to remind yourself that you're worth the effort.
-see if you can find a diet buddy who can either diet with you, assuming they too need to and wish to have a healthier lifestyle, or will offer moral support and encouragement when you need it, or both.
-keep in mind that the most effective weight loss solutions are not just diets and exercise but long term lifestyle changes for a fitter and healthier you for the rest of your life.
-dress for the body you have, not the body you wish to have, nor the body you might believe needs to be hidden.
-and finally, keep your chin up and be proud and happy that you're doing something good for your overall health and wellbeing. don't give up. you can do this :)

Well, besides exercise, your body needs to believe that it does not need to continue storing your food as fat. Eating lots of small, relatively healthy meals actually helps speed up your metabolism. Don't ever skip meals, especially breakfast, and try 6 or 7 little meals a day, see how that helps. Also, beware of No carb or no sugar, etc. etc...I lost over 75 lbs and I ate plenty of carbs....just the ones that made sense, like whole grain breads, etc.

Hi chel, good show for being positive about this!!
Obviously diet and well designed exercise are key here. I would be looking more to the long term and there is much help available with many other women in your same predicament.
Best Regards

besides the basics; exercise, eat healthy, drink plenty of water...apple vinegar helps clean your body and loose weight. You can mix with water or juice. or you can buy as pills. If you eat anything green you will also loose weight. The green vegi's have some type of chemicals, it break down the fat in your body. You have to keep on trying different methods and one will work for you. good luck.

I've just recently lost weight by joining a women's only gym. I am also trying to eat healthy. I love those 100 calorie snack packs. There a lifesaver when you need a snack. I wish you well.

have you tried the weight watcher's points plan? that seems to work for a lot of people. another thing, don't drink soda and exercise 4 times a week.
if no success is shown, see a doctor

I'm the same height as you and weigh about the same too, so what I would do is power-walking and eat Lean Cuisines. That stuff helped me lose 25 pounds in the past few months.
