we rang her the other day to say we would like to come up and see her , we havent seen her for a while ,but have regular contact. via telephone ,she replied saying no i have to keep august open because her boyfriend doesnt know when he is coming over to see her.
what do u think?

I think your sister-in-law needs to get a life. If she has left August open just in case, she is ridiculous. I wouldn't say she doesn't want to see you; some are just like that -- fake and unable to look at what's important in life.

i don't know. it could be and maybe she's telling the truth. i don't think she doesn't like you or anything like that since she answers your calls regularly and talks to you. if she doesn't like you, she probably would avoid talking to you. just give it some time and try next month, and if she gives another excuse, try the next month, then get suspicious. you shouldn't just jump to conclusions during the first time, unless you're starting to worry about her and suspect something is wrong, then go ahead and just go up to see her and see if she's okay =)

I think that she's really looking forward to spending some time alone with her boyfriend and will invite you over as soon as she knows when he's not gonna be there.

I think your husband should phone her again and tell her boyfriends can come or go but family is for life and should be appreciated whilst they are there
