Bone marrow is a critical part of your bones that takes part in the production of red and white blood cells. In people that have leukemia, their bone marrow is diseased and a bone marrow transplant can become neccessary. Bone marrow will be extracted from a healthy donor that is matched with the recipient. This healthy bone marrow replaces the diseased bone marrow in the recipient in hopes of erasing the leukemia problems.

well bone marrow is the pulpy tissue found inside long bones. In a health individual, the bone marrow produces the cellular components of blood, specifically red cells, white cells and platelets. If, throught illness or disease, the bone marrow is no longer able to replace the normal supply of blood cells, life-threatening problems can result. But the transplant is By completely replacing the bone marrow through transplant, an individual with abnormal or no bone marrow function may be successfully treated. The transplanted bone marrow will produce new blood cells, which will result in the return of normal function.

I believe you mean bone marrow. When you donate bone marrow, the doctors often stick a large needle in your back bone and sucktion out some of your bone marrow to give to another person.

I think you mean bone marrow. Bone marrow is the stuff that's inside your bones.. some people don't have enough of it and need to get it from others, almost like a blood transfusion. But its a soft tissue that's in the middle of your bones.

Blood is made in the marrow of your bones. In a person with certain cancers of the blood they cant make it anymore or it comes out "defective" A donor donates cells from their marrow and it's placed into the recipients body to make blood. They have to destroy the recipients marrow in order to do it. They take donor marrow from the Sacrum I think and it has to be a genetic match

yes they ake the marrow from i believe the base of the spine or tail bone and replace it in another person who is not able to produce the red blood cells they need to live a normal life.

bone marrow is on the inside of your bone. so how they extract it is use a needle the size of the pump you use to pump up your basketball, punch it in THROUGH the bone and suck out the goodies inside.

the procedure involves harvesting your bone marrow to supply to a compatable recipient and is apparently exteremly painful.. ususally the recipient is unabvel to produce enough white blood cells, hence their need.
