I've been cranky many times in my life, but it was never menstrual related. But yes, for those women that suffer from PMS, it can be for a few days.

Yes, I start noticing changes about 4 or 5 days before it starts..it messes with some women more than you can imagine! I know girls that don't skip a beat, I've known others that get sooooo sick they are bedridden and vomiting. Personally I get severe headaches, lose any appetitie or interest in food and can barely choke down toast and tea, horrible cramps (its gross but the closes thing a guy would feel to that is the pain you experience if you get bad diarrhea and cramps, sorry I'm just trying to help you understand), muscle aches, back pain, just getting dressed is exhausting, its like a monthly severe flu....your emotions can get out of control and can range from a deep depression like feeling where you just don't want to BE anymore, anger that you know is about nothing, crying that is for no reason but feels just the same as it would with a great reason.....imagine having all of that going on in your head and trust me its a far worse feeling for us than it is for any guy. It wouldn't hurt to just try to understand and be a little extra nice, those feelings can be changed in a heartbeat by someone responding to you the right way. I was one of those never skip a beat girls UNTIL I had my tubes tied, now this is what I deal with every month! It stinks and I've been to the dr's 100 times and tried everything, nothing works and anything that has improved the symptoms causes me to bleed constantly...what a trade off but it actually seemed worth it for a year or so!

Oh yes. That is called Pre Menstral Syndrome aka PMS. Alot of women become very moody up to a week before their period, and some even stay cranky the entire time, up to a couple days afterwards.

The first day of the menstrual cycle is generally the ruffest on us. But, PMS stands for Pre Menstrual Syndrome. That is the time frame before your period begins. And many of us who have a difficult time are not in control of how we feel.

yup, because most women will have cramps before they come on. Just deal with it and know that it will be over in a few days.
