do girls think its being called a dote is a compliment or not?

I personally think it's the biggest compliment I can give a girl. If I think a girl is a dote it means I really really like her, but some girls don't think its much of a compliment? They'd rather be told they're sex on legs or something?

Maybe I should explain a dote is someone who is sweet and cute and adorable and all you can think of doing is hugging and squeezing them.

As a girl, I would think it's ok, but not really a turn on. Plus, she may not know exactly what a "dote" is, so she won't know that it means you really really like her. Try being more specific - you smell heavenly - your smile gives me goosebumps - I think about you all the time - you turn me on. If you say "dote" too much, it will lose any romantic meaning, get deeper baby, and enjoy the ride.

You may intend it well, but the word is not known commonly. While it can mean good things like "to dote" on someone. It can also mean "excessive." And just because it's not commonly known, women may not see it clearly or positively. It's kind of like if you said, "You're sublime." Unfortunately, too many people wouldn't know whether you were being critical or complimentary.
