A long and wicked life followed by five minutes of perfect grace gets you into Heaven. An equally long life of decent living and good works followed by one outburst of taking the name of the Lord in vain—then have a heart attack at that moment and be damned for eternity. Is that the system?"

No, that's not the system AT ALL... i don't think it has to be a FULL 5 minutes...

No, not by any means. Where did you get that from? God judges you by your heart, and He knows you better than even you do. He wants you to believe in Him and walk with Him and live in perfect peace and Harmony forever, and He does everything He can without affecting free will to help you because He loves you. If you lead a long, faithful life and have accepted Jesus as your Savior and the precious gift that He gave you, then you will live in Heaven with God.
If you live a "wicked" life, as you say, then you will not immediately enter Heaven unless you repent and accept Jesus and believe in God. Even after death, you get a second chance. Jesus has the key to Hell and teaches things to the lost souls there, just as He did when He was on Earth.
There's only one unforgiveable sin, which is called Rejecting the Holy Spirit. If you see angels or demons or talk to God or in any way, shape, or form know for a fact that God exists and yet still say that He does not...then you are damned. That's why Satan and the fallen angels cannot receive forgiveness. Other than that, all you have to do is repent. Ask for forgiveness, and stop sinning. That's all.

No its' not. Well, ok, the first part is correct, if you mean that God will meet you where you are. You don't have to change and try to be good, all you have to do is admit you are a sinner, accept Jesus as your Savior, and then yes, that "five minutes of perfect grace" which is your decision, will get you to Heaven.
But the other part of your question is false. You do not get to Heaven by your works. you can live a morally decent life and do tons of good deeds, and give to charity and all that stuff, but if you do not accept Jesus as your savior, you do not go to Heaven.
We could delve in to the highly controversial subjects of unrepentant sin in a believers life, and whether once saved are you always saved, but I am so not going there.
One way to Heaven, and that is through Christ. There is no other way. Salvation is not a carrot God dangles on a string in front of us saying, oops you had a bad thought, so boom heart attack you're not going to heaven." I believe that mindset to be a leftover from mythology. Those gods were very tempermental. you couldn't do anything without the fear of wrath.
The True God is not like that. He loves you.
and I agree, Tesla does rock. used to listen to them all the time.;)
ok one more addition: I don't think your question is funny at all, and not deserving of the ridicule it's getting. You may be kidding around, but there are a lot of people out there that think exactly that way. That's not funny to me, it's sad. The church is doing a horrible job at getting the truth out if so many people think that way.

Jesus Christ is the "I AM" or God Himself in a visible body.

"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."
-- Colossians 2:9

"Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"
-- John 14:9

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you Before Abraham was, I AM."
-- John 8:58

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person.

Where in the world did you learn that?

That statement didn't take a lot of thought but it is so far from the truth it isn't funny.

Most Christians don't believe that anyone will go to hell because they didn'y have a chance to confess their sins before they died. God sees what's in the heart. He's not nearly as interested in our actions as he is with our faith in him.
