I have never had another cat do this. Could something be wrong or is like how some people bite their nails?

You've never had another cat do this??? Now THAT is unusual. I've had cats my whole life and every single one of them did this. It's part of the grooming process. If you regularly trim their claws for them you will notice this much less often. Just like our nails, a cat's claws grow. They can become overgrown if they are not properly groomed. The cat keeps their claws in check mostly by scratching with them (you should provide a post for them to do this - sisal rope ones work the best & cats love to scratch at them). Part 2 of the grooming process involves the shedding of the outer layer of dead nail from the claw. They do this with their teeth. You cat is 100% normal and kudos to you for having paws with claws! Declawing is for barbarians! ,,,^..^,,,

No, it's simply cleaning them. If you've never had a cat that did that before, then you've had cats with dirty claws!!

Every cat I've ever had has done that. They're naturally fastidious creatures and like to be VERY Clean. If you've had cats that weren't like this, I'd wonder.

You probably shouldn't worry, but there might be something stuck in his/her paws. My cat used to bite her nails so we declawed her and that worked.

It's possible that one is ingrown and is causing her discomfort. Is she polydactyl (extra toes)? My cat Milo sometimes does this. Or she might have something caught in her paw, like clumped litter.
