for our 6 kittens? they are 7 weeks old. one is black tiger-striped, another is gray and orange tiger-striped. the other 5 are all the same; black, gray, orange multicolored. the gray and orange tiger striped, my brother named pursestrap; i call her pursy, for short. best name gets 10 points.

pursestrap, or pursy, is female. this is the gray/orange tigerstriped one.

I recently learned that Melissa is a name from the Bible that means "lioness of God". If I were to have a female cat again I would name her that.

I think Melly is a cute nickname too.

I named one female cat Sigourney because I admired that actress. The cat is very slim and has very long legs. I called her Siggy and she didn't like that. So the cat and I compromised on Sylvie.

I would wait a little bit before naming them to see what they're personality is. My brother got a puppy and called her brown dog, and a little later she turned red!
