A County Supervisor spoke at the SEnate Hearing about a week ago.

http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2006/08/03/news/top_stories/8206191650.txt

"Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich said his county spends nearly $1 billion each year to provide public safety, health care and other social services for illegal immigrants. He said about 12 percent of Los Angeles County's 10.2 million residents and about 25 percent of the county jail's inmates are illegal immigrants.

"The fiscal drain on the taxpayers by those who are here illegally is catastrophic," Antonovich said."

Yes we even passed an ordinance...Workers Verification Ordinance...to audit businesses I'9's...but the contractor we hired used the money to go after businesses for not paying their taxes rather then going after businesses for hiring illegals.
So we took it to our legislators and got E-very in S.C

No, I live in a small town where there are not very many illegals b/c there is nothing for them to do here.

At first they were all about welcoming the new comers, now its all about how to clean the town back up! Typical naive American politicians.
