If you want to have a big wedding, then have a big wedding! Spend as much as you feel comfortable spending, set a budget before hand and stick as close to it as possible. Your going to remember this day for the rest of your life, and you want to look back and feel good about all the choices you made, you dont want to look back and realize that you'd settled for less than you wanted. Go all out and have fun with it.

Just have an intimate ceremony and the church and then reception/party afterward- Don't spend alot of money on it though. The most money should go to the pictures, They are important and that is what will last. After it is all said and done- nobody will care what the birdemaids dresses looked like or how expensive the centerpieces were- the important part is the vows- the celebration after is fun. Just relax and have fun. Use the money you would spend on a fancy reception on the honeymoon or for a downpayment on a house. Most people don't get aonther chance to go on a romantic getaway much after the kids come- so live it up before the kids.

First of all, I want to say congratulations!

Secondly, big weddings are hugely expensive. The money spent on that one day, even admitting that it's one of the most special ones of your life, could be used for other things: down payment on a house, a wonderful trip, saving for a baby.

You can still have a lovely wedding that isn't as big or elaborate, but still very beautiful and meaningful.

Ways to save: have friends and/or family do your flowers; find somebody you know to do the photography; friend or someone else do the wedding cake. The gown doesn't have to cost a gazillion dollars either.

Just some thoughts. Beautiful, memorable weddings don't have to be the biggest and most expensive ones, you know. Actually the ones I've been most touched by are the smaller ones. Bigger ones remind me of Hollywood productions!!

Well, it seems like you have the basics together. Do you have a church and reception area picked out? If not that should be your first move. Then you send out wedding invitations. I am not sure where you are located exactly but if you need someone to do the invitations email me at brandyalexandria@hotmail.com.
