i had my four wisdom teeth taken out together and ive never heard off it causing any physical problems. the only two things i know that can lead to problems is that you can get a dry blood socket, which can be very very painful believe me it happend to me, and the reason being was i was stupid enough not to listen to my dentist and drank hot tea and really other hot drinks.which you are not supposed to do.The other thing to remember is not to brush your teeth for bout two to three days just garggle with luke warm salt water 3 times a day, i know the thought of not brushing your teeth sounds horrid beilieve me the thought and pain off having a dry socket out weighs it all.

The othe thing to remember is take the antibiotics you will be presscribed because there is a slight chance you may get an infection so you will be prescribed these take them to the end off the course even if you cant be bothered.

You will feel pain for quite some days after the procedure and i would strongly recomend you buying some nurofren or trying to get some vlotrol on prescription, but of course if you have an alergy to anti inflamatres dont touch these make an appoiontment with your doctor before hand and ask him to prescribe you a strong pain killer that you cant take for the next week to help you get through the pain

But above all, the pain you may suffer afterward will be nothing in comparassion to what you might be getting now or could get if you do not have the op and they become impacted.

good luck

Yes, teeth can indeed cause problems elsewhere. When my wisdom tooth got infected it spread to my sinuses. Also, my mother’s dentist believed her neuralgia pains to be caused by her teeth.

Having a wisdom tooth extracted is not like having other teeth pulled. It’s classed as oral sugary. My father, my wife and I have all had wisdom teeth extracted. Mine was the most difficult procedure as the tooth had two roots, which were growing outwards then curving back in and crossing. The general aim is to bisect the tooth and remove the two halves separately but in my case, as the tooth was also lying on its side, it proved to rather more difficult. First the gum had to be cut away and pealed back, then some of the jawbone removed to reveal the roots. The tooth then needed to be broken up and removed piece by piece. Finally the remaining flap of gum was folded back down and stitched together. These still leaves a gaping hole where the tooth once was. Food getting in can be a real problem.

There is always the risk of a secondary infecting setting in following this sort of treatment. Even though I followed the surgeon’s instructions the socket became infected and needed an antiseptic/anaesthetic dressing inserted into the socket and some rather strong antibiotics.

Just go by what your dentist recommends. If they believe your tooth needs to be removed then I would follow their advice.

You can get TMJ which is a clicking of the jaw which is sometimes painful. You can also get dry socket if you don't follow the procedures the doctor gives you. This condition exist when a blood clot is dislodged from the surgery site thus exposing the bone and fine nerve endings. The blood clot helps in the stopping of bleeding and lays the foundation or framework for new tissue and bone to develop over a two-month healing process.

Just remember that having your wisdom teeth out is surgery and you need to take it easy and follow the dr.'s orders and you should be OK.

Not necessarily. There are things that can occur from having your wisdom teeth pulled; like TMJ and such, but the problems that could happen if you leave them in overpowers I think. I had mine taken out about 9 months ago and I have as yet to experience any problems. And I know others that have had them taken out even longer ago and they haven't come into any problems either. Good luck with that.

Having wisdom teeth pulled generally *helps* with physical problems, not leads to them. Just make sure that you take all your antibiotics if they are given to you and go to any follow up appointments with your dentist.

I had my bottom wisdom teeth pulled and the only problem I've had is pains where the teeth use to be, but the denist said that' was just the jaw bone healing.

The only real thing you should have to worry about is an infection in your gums. Everyone I know has had theirs pulled and they don't have any irregular health problems. The thought that having a tooth pulled will lead to health problems is like saying that having your tonsels removed can cause you to get cancer. The odds of anything going wrong is slim to none.

Not usually. It isn't that bad getting them out. The first day is ok, take an anti-inflammatory and be careful what you eat. Days 2 and 3 are the worst for pain, but then after that, you will be so glad you got them out, especially if they are the kind that erupt from your gum and go back down, or if they are crowding your other teeth.

I don't think its true. I have had friends whose teeth were pulled, and the most they had was a fever/mouth ache! My dentist is letting mine grow through! It hurts really bad! Apparently, I have a big enough mouth! Good luck to you!
