i have a piranha peak power battery charger. it says only to charge nicd batteries. but could i get away with charging nimh? or is there a modification i could make to it in order for this to work? it charges at 4.5A max and trickle is 50-300mA. and if so what is the biggest battery i should charge with it? ive seen some big batteries out on the market these days. up to 4300 mAh. should i stay away from som thing that big?

Fast charge NiCd and NiMh chargers are different. It may appear to work, but you will be destroying your NiMh Batteries.

seems to me, the price of a nimh charger is less than the price of the nimh cells themselves.. I wouldn't do it :)
