Aw, I'm in the same situation!
Option #1: Ask him out, tell your dad about him.
Option #2: Ask him out, then don't tell your dad about him.
Option #3: Remain good friends and wait till he asks you out. Then blame it all on him and tell your dad. ;) (I'm just kidding, by the way.)
Either way, just let things flow and see how it goes. :)

How old are you? You must be under age and still living at home to still be worried about it. It would be best to talk with your Dad and ask what his reasons are for feeling this way. Sometimes there are legitimate reasons. My daughter married a guy that I didn't like and ten years later she wishes that she had listened. But as they say, hindsight is 20/20.

Think about if you are willing to risk your relationship with your father for this boy. Consider the consequences. Make a list of pros and cons and review it before making any decision. (Secret relationships do NOT work! I've had one and got kicked out of my house for the same type of situation.) Keep in mind this decision does not just effect you, but your family as well.

first tell let the kid know your interested then he will have to get the respect of your dad, if he is really protective the kid will have to show him he is just as protective, maybe you r pops will lighten up a lil. goodluck
