Or propose with a cubic zirconium or gumball machine ring? Cause if the engagement fails, most women are gonna keep it because majority are goldiggers. The ring is based on contingency that you actually get married. Dont fall for the trap.

My fiance and I are enaged, but we don't have rings. Rings, weddings, or receptions don't matter. Just the unity betweeen two people who love each other.

The only way I think it would be ok to propose without a ring is if it was a spur of the moment, and one of those "this is the right moment" type things. Otherwise he better use a ring, doesn't have to be expensive, but definitely not cubic zirconium or from a gumball machine.

That's stupid! The majority of women aren't gold diggers. I'd say that anyone proposing with less than a "real" ring isn't expecting it to last and shouldn't be asking in the first place. As for the woman keeping the ring...she's only REALLY suppose to do that if the man breaks off the relationship. If she dumps him it should be returned. I'm sure there are exceptions to this but that's the general idea.

If a guy didn't propose to me with a ring I would be so offended! That could make me rethink marrying him! Not because i'm a goldigger but because he would be being cheap. Unless he really didn't have much money, then that would just be awfully rude and a sign of a cheap life to come

First of all If you're worried that the engagement would fail then you don't really love the person and you shouldn't even be asking them to share a life with you.
What kind of man would ask for the ring back? Its just petty. (its sad but its happened) Unless you plan on giving it to the next poor girl.
