I know alot of people use it as medication for their anxiety. So would you class it as a drug because of the effect it has on the body and mind?

Just read your logic. Medication is a drug. Alcohol is used as a medication. Therefore alcohol is a drug. Matters not it's intent to use or abuse. Matters what it does to the imbiber. All drugs are designed to alter some part of the human body. Like aspirin, used as a pain reliever, but can be used as a poison if taken in excessive quantities.

Yes... it most certainly is. It is a pretty powerful depressant and if abused can harm almost every tissue of the body. It is possiblt to become heavily addicted to it and it is one of the only drugs with which a sudden withdrawal can actually kill you. It you compare it to other drugs it causes more social and personal problems than any other drug. It makes some people crazy and they can be dangerous if they drive or become aggressive. In that sense it must be taken in strict moderation.

It has beneficial properties and can be also damaging for other people how have personality problems etc. It is part of the natural diet of mammals, their is an enzyme in the body that is designed to digest alcohol. When you eat fallen apples they contain alcohol naturally and so alcohol is not a 'artificial drug'

Alcohol IS a drug. That is a fact, regardless of anybody's opinion. And, as alcohol is a depressant drug, it actually heightens anxiety. Do more research before asking such bloody obvious questions.

Yes. Some drugs actually have some of the same ingrediants as alcohol. I am pretty sure that some anti-depressents are made with some ingrediants from alcohol.

Yes it is a drug...I have never heard of a doctor prescribing alcohol for anxiety. That is BS.

well it kills a lot of people, its addicting, its not good for you, other than a glass of red wine a night, .... but what i dont understand is why alcohol is legal, and pot is not, where there is not one single case of pot killing anyone ( other than peoples own stupid fault stuff) and pot is not addicting..... the only thing i can think of is that they have no way to make alot of money off of it yet because people can grow their own and they do not have a way to test it on hand, for like to see if anyone is driving high... sorry got off topic, but yes.... i consider it a drug, in its own way because it alters the mind...

i would consider it a drug because it prevents you from being capable to carry out a rational train of thought and can cause you to demonstrate outrageous and unhealthy behavior. the consummation of alcohol eventually leads to the disintegration of the mind and the extinguishing of the soul. Plus, u get fat!!!
