Does it take a long time? To see a counselor? Depends on what you are chemically dependent on. I heard that for every year you're "hooked" it will take another year of being clean and sober. So if you're hitting it for 10 years, it's gonna take 10 years to clean up

Why would you want to do that? Are you recovering from addiction? Or just looking for something you think will be easy?
If you are really concerned about helping, then it shouldn't matter how long it takes or if it's hard. And the fact that they make next to nothing shouldn't bother you either.

depends what chemical you're talking about....the with drawls/detox is the worst part....after that it's basically trying to get rid of the psychological dependency...personal experience, yes it's difficult but worth it...but it really depends on what chemical...
i admire you for seeking help, good luck with it!
