The sad reality is, once it's paid off it's old and has lots of miles on it. That's when things tend to break!
On the other hand, you probably have more life left in the car than you would have, say, 15 years ago.

because lif sucks but we have 3 paid for on 1 the body is totaled but they all still run like a top even the one that looks like its been totaled

its ford for ya my sis had a ford tarus and her friend has one im going to try and fix for him but my sis ford had to have he motor rebuilt fords are junk they cant make anything decent lke chevy/gm if i were you id get rid of that car and go by a real car chevy likje the colbalt or sumting like that

It seems to be true, but any car that is taken care of last many years. People today don't maintain their cars anymore.
