Australia has a diversity or wine growing regions ranging from Tasmania (the BEST pinot), the Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley in Victoria, the Barossa Valley in south Australia, the Hunter Valley in NSW and the Margaret River region and further North in Western Australia.
In the last few years, the Queensland Wine Industry has come ahead in leaps and bounds, especially in the Granite Belt region. A lot of Aussies think that Qld wine is inferior because the grapes come from a hotter region, but in fact Qld wines are winning just as many awards these days as the Southern vineyards and wineries.
Very good Semillion is coming out of Qld and some lovely peppery Shiraz.

In South Australia: Barossa Valley
in New South Wales: the Hunter valley
in Victoria: the Coonawarra region
in Western Australia: the Margaret River and Mount Barker areas.
In Australia they are called wineries, not wine farms! Enjoy yourself!

There are beautiful wineries in Mebourne, in the dandenong ranges, but generally all over Australia. They make some of the best shiraz's in the world because of the high climate.
