I don't think it's necessary at all. It's your choice, though. I didn't change for the reception, but my husband and I did change right before we left the reception because we had a 2-hr. drive to Atlanta. We just snuck out of the reception, went and changed and then came back in. I personally didn't want to change out of my wedding dress before I had to because I spent so much time picking it out (not to mention how much wedding dresses can cost!). You can bustle your dress so it doesn't get in your way walking around and dancing. I thought it was fun to be in my dress at the reception. Again, it's your decision, but that was my experience.

It's not necessary. Changing out of your wedding attire is totally your decision. Some people want to stay in the same outfit that they wore for the ceremony mostly for pictures, but others want to change into something they can be comfortable in for dancing and general partying!

Good luck and congratulations!

you should definitely stay in your wedding clothes until after the cake is cut. You should take a spare change of clothes in case you feel like changing - give yourself the option. But a lot of people like to see the bride and groom up close in their wedding attire, gives them an opportunity for personal pictures, etc. Have the wedding party stay in their clothes if you are. Have them bring clothes to change into if you decide to also. That's my best advise... *k*

I have been a florist for 35 years and have serviced many weddings. I don't believe I have ever seen the bride change clothes after having the pictures taken. Most brides enjoy wearing their beautiful gown and want to wear it for the whole evening.

Not at all. The only thing I changed was 1) Had my dress bustled and 2) changed into a shorter veil.

NO! Especially if you are the bride...it is better for you to stay in your dress since that is the only time you will wear it, and people will want to gawk over you in it! If you are a bridesmaid, it depends on if you bought the dress or if the bride did and what the bride wants you to do!

No. Traditionally, the wedding party stays in the same clothes.
