Make sure that you understand what the instructor is asking you to do before doing it. Before you get in the car, remind yourself to do the little things - make sure the mirrors are adjusted, your seat belt is buckled, etc. I have been teaching driver's ed in Arizona for 5 years and I can almost immediately tell if a driver is really nervous.
Don't pay attention to what the person is writing, pay attention to your driving. Here in AZ you have to get 80% on the test to pass, and not make any major mistakes. As my student's go through whatever scenario I have for them, I check things off as to how well they were done. So, just because I am writing doesn't mean you are losing points.
While driving, remember to signal, check mirrors and blind spots, and look 20 seconds down the road.
Just take a deep breath, relax, and remember what you have been taught, and you'll do fine!

Here's the correct answer. Just hop in, buckle up, and do what the examiner asks you to do. You'll be so busy doing what they ask, you won't have time to be nervous or scared. I thought my head was going to explode on my way to go take the test, but once I got there, it was over before I knew it. It's really not that bad. The anticipation is way worse than the actual event. And trust me, nothing's better than walking out of that building, looking at that first shiny brand new driver's license. Don't worry, you'll do fine.
Good Luck and have fun. And RELAX!

Dab a bit of lavender oil on your temples an hour before, yes OK it might be a bit whiffy for a guy but it does help you relax, just say your mam is into polishing everything if he gives you strange looks on the test, good luck hope you pass.

just dont worry about it, remember, IF you fail you can always try again. Remember your training, and pay attention to the road, lights, signs, exc. DO NOT worry about the DMV person sitting in the car with you, they write stuff, good and bad, while you are driving, I think, or at least this was how it was a few years ago, you can screw up on three minor things and still pass. Just relax and dont worry about it.

Assume you will fail and that you are doing this test as a practice. If you fail then you will not be too upset and you will not worry as much because you don't expect to pass this time round. You will be calmer and more likley to pass.
