its one of two reasons.
you are either not getting a good enough work out
you have been doing a workout consistantly, so your body is no longer sore.
The first few days of a new workout will result in sore muscles. But once you start and keep with it, you should never be sore. I did tae kwon do, and for the next 2 weeks I was very sore. But since then, it has been 6 months since I have been sore.

Soreness is due, in large part, to a buildup of lactic acid in the muscle tissue. During demanding workouts there is not enough oxygen for the muscle to undergo aerobic respiration and instead it makes lactic acid which can create a burning senstation.
You dont get sore becuase your body is 'familiar' with your workout and has undergone the nessesary transformations to accomodate those movements. In short, you have probably gained some muscular endurance.
However, getting mildly sore after a workout is a good thing. I would suggest you change up your routine or add some new exercises to stress your body to build more muscle tissue. If you get sore you know you have used some new muscles.

Just because your muscles aren't sore doesn't mean you aren't working them out. A lot of people do crunches wrong, they go super fast instead of concentrating on contracting the ab muscles using proper breathing. there is the misconception that you have to do 100+ crunches to have a 6-pac, when infact you can do a significant amount less and get the same results if done right. try switching up your routine, your body and muscles get used to the same routines, just as with any other muscle group such as bi's and tris.

Same here. It can be real difficult to work out your abs. How much, well, blubber are on top of your abs? If their is alot, your crunches are in vain. If their is none, than do more crunches. Or try this, lie on your back, lifr your legs in the air and circle them up and down. Painfuuulll. But it works. Its better than crunches. And while your sitting down, tighten your abs continously (do it now!).

Increase your reps, or change it up and do different crunches
http://exercise.about.com/cs/abs/tp/abexercises.htm
If you don't do these, do a search on ab exercises and find some extra things you can add to your workout.
If you do the same thing every day you'll only build up so much muscle and then be done, but if you switch it up you'll constantly be building new muscle.

Add some resistance to your crunches. Perhaps a big book of some kind. Moby Dick does the trick.

this is because, when you workout, your muscles don't grow AS you workout, it grows when it is restoring, so, when you work your muscles, in your sleep, they will restore, and thats how you gain muscle, and IF it is sore, that means you worked to much, and you should'nt do any more crunches untill your stomach is restored!

Maybe you need to do more. When you're sore, it means you muscle is ripped and it's healing itself and becomes stronger.

dunno, but if you do "bicycles" you should feel an amazing burn, so you know its working
when your doing them, you will start to burn a little. and right at the end, no matter how many you do, you will lay down out of bicycle form, and you'll feel an amazingly satisfying burn like you've never felt, like your stretching your abs so much their breaking in half.
