the answer is 144. 1 monkey invites 35 monkey friends - 1 + 35 = 36. They all bring their monkey mom's and dads - 36 times 2 = 72. They all take 2 friends each - 72 times 2 = 144. At least I think its the right answer.

35 monkey mates + each monkey brings parents (70 more monkeys) Each of these 105 monkeys brings 2 monkey mates (210 more monkeys). Therefore there are 315 monkeys plus Tim the monkey which is 316.

the words monkeys is used two times, otherwise this is the formula I have come up with

35X2=70 +35 =105
105X2 =210
105+210 = 315
315 + 1(BIRTHDAY MONKEY) = 316

316... I have no idea

I got 248
One for Tim and two for his parents
35 mates plus 70 for their parents and
140 for the mates the parents bring, (lol, at least that's what i think it says)
that's 248 monkeys
