my husband and i were married on Friday the thirteenth. we did this on purpose but if i had known......
we had a outdoor wedding by a lake. none of my family attended, my soon to be mother in law and maid of honor were stung by bees, none of the pictures turned out right, i fudged up on the wedding vowels, and the band dressed like they were going to a truck pull. My husband caught the flu on our wedding night and ran a fever all night long. so the next night to make it up to me he took me to a party some friends had for us. the party was fun but when we went to leave we backed over a wasp nest and my husband who is very allergic to bees and wasp was stung many times. so a friend rushed us to the hospital where my husband stayed for three hours. and the whole time i thought i was gonna be a widow before i could be a wife. needless to say we went home and hid out for a couple of weeks. oh yeah, the hospital bill was over $600. we have been married almost 10 yrs and have 3 wonderful kids but if i had to go back and do it all over again i think i would have waited just one more day to get married.
not the most romantic story but we laugh about it now

I LOVED my wedding! It was simple, short and had everything I wanted. I think what made it so wonderful to me was that my husband helped alot with it. I gave him very specific things to do so that his personality was reflected in the ceremony & reception. (for instance, he picked a frankenstein & bride of frankenstein cake topper). Everyone commented on how perfect it was for the two of us and he helped pull it off. I made him run everything by me, give me options and such, but he did the bulk of the research on things.
I would have given myself more time to plan the wedding as I did a lot of the things myself. I was tremendously exhausted from all the planning for the first 4 days of the honeymoon.
My mother in law drove me absolutely crazy. She kept trying to take over the whole thing and kept buying all kinds of stuff that didn't even go with the colors or theme of our wedding. I just made my husband handle her... :)
But in all fairness, the wedding would not have been as fabulous had I not had help and input from my sisters, his parents and his aunts, uncles, cousins and our friends. I just looked at our wedding like it was the biggest party we'd ever throw. I think that helped keep the stress level down. Have fun with yours! Decide what is most important to you and spend your money there. Don't sweat the small stuff and make that man do some things... :) Good Luck!

We had a beach wedding. It was a beautiful day and I had a great guest turnout. The only problem was, there were so many spectators standing around in bikini's and flip flops. They ended up being in some of my wedding photographs. I enjoyed the attention but hated the fact that they didn't have enough respect to watch from a distance.

We had just moved from Hollywood to Ohio and we went to the courthouse. May not seem like a lot but it turns out the mayor who married us was his 2nd cousin. His folks were there and it was the most beautiful time of my life. Something so simple could be so wonderful, and church bells rang when we kissed. We also tattood are rings on our fingers. Cheap can be beautiful and mean way more than ribbons and bows

We had a beautiful wedding with tons of family and friends. My colors were black and white with pink accents. It was very classy! Our ceremony was outdoors and it was perfect weather. We got lucky because the next day it poured. We didn't allow children at the ceremony or reception and got some crap for that, but I wouldn't change a thing!

My mother in law drove me insane....four years later and she's still at it.
My wedding was wonderful but I didn't really get to enjoy it at the time. I was so rushed and stressed. I didn't even eat or drink anything the whole time....
I'm really glad I have good pictures to remember everything by.

My huband and I got married in Eureka Springs. We decided to have it just the two of us, very intimately. We loved every bit of it, and it was like a fairy tale day and setting! Just beautiful. We wouldn't have done anything differently.
