Depends on the living conditions. Usually a well-cared-for cat will live between 10 and 16 years.

A cat dies most often when hit by a car, attacked by an aggressive dog, or becomes the prey of a coyote or large predatory bird.
Cats who are protected (at a very minimum inside at night) can live to any age, even into their 20's. It depends on whether a cat has a proper diet, veterinary care when needed, and the genes it got from its parents. Same as with people
I have a 22 yr old cat who is definitely "circling the drain" as they say in the medical profession. And she is enjoying her food, tooling around her garden, has acupuncture for her arthritis, an herbal tincture in her food, a monthy grooming and bath. She is an elegant and imperious old lady!
I lost an eleven year old cat to mammary cancer and I now have a twelve year old recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. I have to face the loss of him from that.

10-16, depends if it's indoor or outside cat. Indoor live longer. If you have been taking him or her to the vet on a regular bases and how the cat was raised as a kitten. Like if you found her on the streets- you might not know how well she ate or was taken care of in the being stages of her life.

Your cat will die of feline distemper at age two if you don't get it its vaccinations!
Your cat will die at age 4-5 if you don't get it spayed or neutered.
Your cat will die at age 0-13 if you have coyotes or dogs running loose in your neighborhood.
Your kitten will die at age 9 weeks if some tomcat gets to it.
Your cat will die at age 19 if your dad isn't looking while backing up his car (happened to my cat).

It depends on the care of the cat I have a cat that is 20 years old, she never had any health problems. so I am very lucky she even still has all her teeth so it really depends on the cat.

If it's an outdoor cat, they'll live for about 7-9 years. Indoor only cats can live into their twenties, though I have heard of some who have only made it to about thirteen. I believe those are relatively rare however.
