The early catholic church brought a lot of pagans in either through force or strong persuasation(you know when being burned alive didnt look like a lot of fun).
So all these pagan were in the church without real conversion and most of them had gods in statue form and complained that they wanted God and Jesus and Mary and Saints in statue form too so they can kneel at their feet. And so thats why you got all the images and statues
There are many wonderful God fearing Catholics but I really dont understand how you can read the bible and stay a catholic at the same time

Catholics secretly venerate the goddess Isis. A secret even to most of them. Isis the mother goddess, originally from Egypt was HUGELY popular in the old Roman Empire. The early Roman Catholic church found she was dang near impossible to stamp out, unlike many other cults religions of those times. The end result is that Isis was incorporated into Catholicism by having her attributes placed upon the Virgin Mary.
Perhaps one could also ask why images are made of Jesus. Some of the early Byzantines thought it was a bad idea, but ICONOCLASM probably made things worse.

--Is Catholic--
I think you are confused about Catholicism. Catholicism doesn't use scripture as "proof text". We do not believe that something is true or false because it is written in the scripture. We believe that if something is true it will not contradict scripture.
Catholicism is not a "religion of the book" or even a "people of the book". We are a people of Christ and Christ is not confined to a book nor does He speak to us only through those written words. Christ lives now and speaks now in this very day.
So your request to "justify by the bible" makes no sense to us Catholics because we Catholics do not turn to the scriptures to justify our beliefs. For Vatican II Dei Verbum
9. Hence there exists a close connection and communication between sacred tradition and Sacred Scripture. For both of them, flowing from the same divine wellspring, in a certain way merge into a unity and tend toward the same end. For Sacred Scripture is the word of God inasmuch as it is consigned to writing under the inspiration of the divine Spirit, while sacred tradition takes the word of God entrusted by Christ the Lord and the Holy Spirit to the Apostles, and hands it on to their successors in its full purity, so that led by the light of the Spirit of truth, they may in proclaiming it preserve this word of God faithfully, explain it, and make it more widely known. Consequently it is not from Sacred Scripture alone that the Church draws her certainty about everything which has been revealed. Therefore both sacred tradition and Sacred Scripture are to be accepted and venerated with the same sense of loyalty and reverence.
As to your question: Scripture doesn't say a lot of things. It doesn't tell you to use a computer to bother Catholics, therefore by your logic, you must be sinning right now and displeasing God by your usage of the computer. That is completely irrational, just as your question is. Of course scripture isn't going to say "Make unto me a pritty picture of my mum"
If you want to learn about scripture and Catholicism, I suggest that you visit

If you want to read about why Mary is so cool, I suggest you read the writings of the early Christians.
Also read this, from an Orthodox website, since you have a thing against Catholics.

+ Mary +
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. (These are the words the angel Gabriel said to Mary, a Bible quote.)
Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. (This is Mary's cousin Elizabeth's greeting, another bible quote.)
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. (The request to pray for us.)
It is the Scriptures inspired by God, not the Catholic Church, that positively states that God thinks of Mary so highly.
The person described by God in this way is just a little different from the rest of us.
Catholics believe this difference is because she was conceived without the taint of original sin (the Immaculate Conception) and committed no personal sin.
Mary is, of course, not God and therefore not worshipped. But she is respected and honored as the first Christian.
But just like any other saint in heaven or on earth (the Communion of Saints) she also can pray to God for us.
+ Graven Images +
Do you have pictures of your loved ones?
Statues and pictures of people we love are not idols.
Statues and paintings of Jesus and the saints are just like pictures of the people we love and respect.
The King James Version of the Bible states in Exodus 20:4: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"
Why were the Jews commanded not to make graven images? Graven images were the standard method of pagan worship. They were representations of false gods.
This is a very clear command. However God commanded the Jews in Exodus 25:18, "And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them" and in 1 Kings chapter 7 Solomon made bulls and other images out of precious metals.
It seems obvious that the Jews did not worship the cherubims and Solomon did not worship the bulls he had made. These images did not violate the command of God. Therefore, an image not made for worship is acceptable.
How can a statue of our Lord Jesus Christ dead on the cross be considered an idol to a false god? A crucifix is the message of the Gospel without words held up for all to see, a visual reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus, no different from a painting, a play, or a movie.
Catholics do not worship statues but the almighty God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
+ With love in Christ.
